Did you know that there are different types of squash? these range from tropical to cold climateand it can be identified through the thickness of their skin.  

Butternut is a winter squash. It has a sweet, nutty taste similar to that of a pumpkin. It has yellow skin and orange fleshy pulp. When ripe, it turns increasingly deep orange, and becomes sweeter and richer. Moreover, did you also know that butternut squash is a fruit? They are of a  Cucurbitaceae  family.

Butternut is known to be low fat and a good source of fiber, rich in Vitamin A and C,which is good for the hair, eyesight and skin. beta-carotene which aids to fight against cancer.

BTW, In Asia, kids are encourage to eat yellow food famously known as squash for a good eyesight development.
